Air

'Air'

 

I titled this piece 'Air' partly because I used rust paint that changes constantly depending on the humidity in the air. This piece is from 2017 and has only been on display once during my solo exhibition 'The Absurd Parade of the Strangely Whimsical' at the Zig Zag Gallery in Kalamunda.
There is also a lot of oxidised gold leaf and textures that aren't visible in the photo.

'Sunset Theatre'

This is the first biggish painting from the new studio (1.2m x 1m). I made a pact with myself this year to use all my old canvases and boards before I buy any new ones (I've already slipped up on that once). I've had this canvas for about 2 years with a background on that just didn't inspire. I actually really enjoyed working this one as there was no reason to be precious as it was already rubbish! I'm really happy with the result, now I'm keen to go back to the naughty pile and see what else I can do :)

Yesterday is history, tomorrow's a mystery as they say and social media has been quite a mystery to me over the years! Last year was a busy one for me, but that's no excuse for not keeping my blog updated. I have recently also created a Facebook page dedicated to my art practice and this year's resolution is to try to learn how to approach social media in a healthy and organised way (oh yeah and I want to walk more and eat less etc hahaha). So let's see where this horse takes me :) and a big thank you to the folk who follow along for my bumpy ride xx
